After a period of lull, SDSM leader Zoran Zaev has made fresh statements about the manner on which the current political crisis could be solved, Telegraf.mk reads.
In his interview for Beta Serbian news agency, Zaev presented strange proposals that are difficult to understand, but basically, he wants to enter the Government without giving a precise date for holding elections.
Zaev felt short out of words when he was asked about the composition of the Government that would need to organize the elections, although, under the Przino Agreement, it is clearly stipulated that the executive body should be of a technical nature, comprising of ministers coming from the SDSM lines, which needs to be established three months before a new election date is agreed.
"I believe that the Przino Agreement could be restored, by a government comprised of the ministers in office that would prepare fair elections," Zaev told Beta.
The proof that things do not go in a positive direction for the SDSM president is confirmed by his latest statements that refer to a possible election date. For the time being, he mentioned October as the month when a general ballot could take place, but he has also mentioned March. What is noticeable is that Zaev no longer speaks about purging the electoral roll, but about a credible voters registry.
According to experts, this is not a coincidence because SDSM as a party, is aware that the electoral roll has been thoroughly revised, and that the claims on alleged 'phantom voters' were invented so that the elections would be postponed.

Now, even the international factor is being more prudent when it comes to making public statements, and refuses to announce a possible new date for a general vote. The EU and US ambassadors, Aivo Orav and Jess Baily respectively, were the main initiators for the elections' postponement, first in regards to April 24, and then in relation to June 5.
Washington has not shown any interest lately to put possible elections dates forward, but speaks about reforms implementation, largely referring to the media sphere. The statement given by US Assistant Secretary of State Hoyt Brian Yee, who paid a visit to Skopje in recent weeks, was given in this context.
"We hope elections will be held as soon as possible, by 2017 the latest, and if the political parties do their job, the work for which they were elected by the Macedonian citizens, they will then have our support," Yee said.
