For the second time in less than a year, turnover taxes in Greece have been increased from 23 to 24 percent, MIA correspondent in Athens informed.

The tax increase is in accordance with the demand put forward by the country's creditors, in exchange for financial aid, as this time Greeks are disappointed because this includes the main ingredients people buy every day, such as coffee and beer.

As of Wednesday, service taxes have been increased as well - internet, landline, and cable and satellite television.

The measures were approved by the Parliament before Greece's Eurozone partners agree to unfreeze EUR 10.3 billion and start talks for Athens' debt relief.

The Greek Government has also carried out reforms in the pension system and signed contracts on ambitious budget goals.
