By now, everybody understands that the terms put forward by SDSM are just a pretext for them not to take part in the general elections. They have succeeded in this twice, but now things do not develop in their favor, Telegraf.mk reads.
This is why the SDSM leadership has to encourage its membership that some kind of concentrationist, wide-coalition or a technical government will soon be formed, although they know that is unlikely to happen and that the elections will be held then when the opposition gathers courage to face the citizens, political analyst Vladimir Bozinovski told the news site.
In a brief interview with Telegraf.mk, Bozinovski explained that since the start of the political crisis it is clear that SDSM does not want elections, and that their unique goal is to come to power and remain there as long as possible, while the best time for this would be the regular elections in 2018.
"Until then, arguments need to be conceived to postpone the elections on the short-term, to maintain the tensions and to put efforts in creating a critical mass of people who would supporter them, similar to 2001. They hope that if there is destabilization, the mood with the voters will change as well. But SDSM knows that they will lose the elections and that's why they need to postpone them constantly, as much as possible," Bozinovski elaborated.
According to the political analyst, it is clear the electoral roll has been purged and that SDSM cannot use the list for its further game. A way needs to be found to force Zoran Zaev to take part in the ballot.
"Maybe a parliamentary committee needs to be established in the Assembly with members of all the parties that will carry out the verification and will monitor the electoral roll, so SDSM won't have any more excuses to run away. Its members have to understand that in order for them to be accepted by the citizens, they have to have a platform and a program," Bozinovski said.
The political expert decisively said that ratings show SDSM will go through another defeat at elections, regardless of the time when they are held, adding the opposition party did not manage to increase the citizens' support.
