American magazine "The Wall Street Journal", published a footage that shows testing US cannon that launches the deadly missile with supersonic speed of 8,046 kilometers per hour. Russians, however, fought back with an appropriate response.
Vice President of the Defense Committee of the Russian Federation, Frank Klincevic, said the country is working intensively on weapon which is better than the American electromagnetic cannon. However, it is unlikely that this kind of weaponry can fully replace the traditional, Russian media reported.
The main problem with this cannon is the cost of its production, so it will be a long time from his initial testing, to its mass production.
"The fact that United States intend to use this type of weapon, clearly shows that they want to push Russia and China in a race of weapons", Klincevic considered.
He added that even if the United States make progress in the practical application of this cannon, Moscow would not be forced to respond in the same way, because Russia has enough other weapons that can be used in such a situation.
