So far, about 400 farmers from the municipalities of Debar and Centar Zupa applied for subsidies, Arben Muladauti, empowered head of the Debar district unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management said.
"Another continuous advantage given by the Government to farmers is in progress. For the first time, the application can be made electronically. The announcement for financial support was released earlier this month and lasts until the end of June", Muladauti stressed.
He pointed out that last year 860 farmers from both municipalities received subsidies. According to him, they received more than EUR 800,000.
"Thanks to the subsidies in recent years,the surfaces being processed have increased, and the number of flocks of sheep also. For example, instead of 20,000 heads of sheep, which is the number from five or six years ago, now there are over 37,000", Muladauti said.
He added that all necessary information can be obtained at the District Unit where they help farmers in completing their requests.
