
Opera "Aida" by Giuseppe Verdi will traditionally close the 44th May Opera Evenings on Tuesday.
The cast includes Vesna Gjinovska-Ilkova in the leading role, along with Dina Khamzina (Kazakhstan), Rubens Pelizzari (Italy), Kazuhiro Kotetsu (Japan), Igor Durlovski, Marjan Jovanoski, Nadezda Ruben, Marjan Nikolovski.
Dejan Prosev is the director, while Croatia's Ivo Lipanovic is the conductor.
This year's May Opera Evenings included 15 events, ten of which for adult audiences and five within educational program "Small May Opera Evenings".
The main program included five operas: Onegin (two performances), Rigoletto, The Tales of Hoffmann, Turandot and Aida.
Ballets Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauties, as well as concerts by Belgrade choir "Viva Vox" and gala concert with Croatian, Russian and U.S. soloists completed the main program.
The Small May Opera Evenings brought the premiere of children's opera "Little Red Riding Hood", children's ballets Doctor Aybolit and Peter Pan, along with concerts by Russian children's choir "Otrada" and Macedonian Opera and Ballet children's choir "Falsetto".
