Following the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Greece, media have focused on its significance, MIA reports from Athens.
Media outlets say Putin sent a message by choosing the route of the Moscow-Athens flight.
"The Moscow-Athens flight did not follow the usual route that encompasses a portion of the Turkish airspace. It bypassed this route and flew over Macedonia. The message is clear - there is an open issue with Turkey regarding the recent downing of the Russian fighter jet", reads Greek-American website "The National Herald".
According to the publication, Turkish fighter jets violated Greek airspace in light of Putin's visit.
