The international OFFest music festival closes on Monday with performances by Brazilian guitarist Badi Assad and a traditional South Italian group Canzone Grecanico Salentino.
Assad, who is of Lebanese origin, has studied classical guitar and has a long career as both a solo and duet performer, overcoming illness to continue working with artists such as Bobby McFerrin, YoYo Ma, Sarah McLachlan, and Seu Jorge.
Canzone Grecanico Salentino are known for the traditional folk music pizzica taranta. The music they perform was believed to have healing powers in southern Italy and is still recognized for its wild and passionate style.
