Instead of witnessing a basketball match, the audience present at the sports hall in Kumanovo, witnessed a massive fight, Telegraf.mk reports.
During the entire game, the most faithful supporters of the Kumanovo team were reprimanded for targeting the MZT Skopje players with hard objects. In the end, the referees decided to clear out the sports hall and to hold the basketball match without an audience present.
The decision prompted the supporters to express their revolt, refusing to leave the premises.
When the decision was stated, a mass-scale fight erupted between the police officers and the Kumanovo team's supporters, in which the latter suffered the negative consequences.
A large number of the fans were running away from the police and entered the field. Doctors needed to intervene as well. While leaving the sports hall, the supporters continued to demolish the inventory.
When the hall was finally emptied, the match continued in front of empty stands. But the fight continued outside and several members of the special police units suffered mild injuries.
