According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in March 2016, the total consumption by types of energy commodities in the Republic of Macedonia was: 673,382 kWh of electricity, 12.307 mil. nm3 of natural gas, 505,286 tons of coal and 83,107 tons of petroleum products.
Gross national electricity production participated with 72.2 percent in gross national electricity consumption, while 96.6 percent of the total national consumption of coals was used for generating electricity.
