The Tales of Hoffmann, an opera by French composer Jacques Offenbach, is featured Tuesday in this year’s edition of the May Opera Evenings taking place in Skopje.
The opera, directed by Austria’s Ursula Horner and conducted by Janusz Przybylski from Poland, stars Sebastián Ferrada from Uruguay, Nikolina Janevska, Ivana Zdravkova, Olgica Milevska, Noema Erba from Czech Republic, etc.
The French libretto was written by Jules Barbier, based on three short stories by E. T. A. Hoffmann. Hoffmann is the protagonist in the opera.
