On May 22, at the 16th Doha Forum in Qatar, the candidate from the Republic of Macedonia for the post of UN Secretary General, Dr. Srgjan Kerim participated in a panel discussion outlining the five indicators affecting the global economy.
Dr. Kerim spoke about the economic growth, demographic trends, trade policy, qualitative changes in the energy sector, and the role of international institutions.
He specifically stressed the role of the United Nations and the G-20 in linking the economic trends with security and stability in the world.
Among the participants were the Presidents of Afghanistan, Mauritius, Niger, and the Foreign Ministers of Qatar, Azerbaijan, Costa Rica and Argentina.
Dr. Kerim met with the other present candidates for the post of UN Secretary General, as well as with the Foreign Ministers of Qatar, Azerbaijan and Argentina.
