SDSM is pressuring the international factor so it can return to Government as soon as possible. From party sources, Telegraph.mk found out that the opposition leadership is in constant contact with the chief ambassadors over the past few days, so it can assure its way back to the Government. Since the resignations of their ministers were verified last week, tensions have hiked in the party.
But, what the ambassadors found surprising is the fact that SDSM did not even mention when elections would actually take place, but spoke instead of returning to Government. That to the foreigners is unacceptable, taken into consideration their bad experience with Zaev in the past.
SDSM leader first demanded elections not to be held on April 24, then the ambassadors even accepted for elections not to be held on June 5. The ambassadors do not want to put themselves in the position of being responsible for the constant postponements, due to the fact that they claimed elections will be held on June 5.
This time they are more careful and do not want to announce dates. Specifically, their stance is that the SDSM ministers will become part of the Government when Zaev will give firm guarantees that he will go to elections.
Acording to the Przino Agreement, 3 months before elections SDSM along with its ministers can become part of the Government which will organize elections.
Unlike the last time, it is unlikely that SDSM will be in charge of the Interior Ministry.
The big question is the date of elections. For now, the most realistic option is that they will take place in March of next year, along with local elections, while SDSM is for elections taking place in the fall, but again, it does not guarantee that it will go to elections.
Until Zaev decides whether he will go to elections, reforms, so elections can actually realize, will continue to be implemented as the Electoral Roll is largely purged and it was established that there are no phantom voters, which was also confirmed by the State Election Commission.
