Germany's special envoy Johannes Haindl has not given a statement to the domestic media regarding his future moves on overcoming the political crisis even upon his second visit to Skopje, Telegraf.mk reads.

What has been changed since his first visit is the fact that the early June 5 parliamentary elections were cancelled, and the passing of the amendments to the Law on Pardoning as well.

Haindl met on Thursday with President Gjorge Ivanov, the Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanoski, and with the leaders of VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM, Nikola Gruevski and Zoran Zaev respectively.

Each of the politicians assessed the situation from their own points of view.

In terms of the current political crisis, VMRO-DPMNE president, Nikola Gruevski, pointed that the party is committed to finding solutions that would prompt a swift exit from the imposed political predicament. He stressed that the ruling party's position is the citizens to have the possibility to choose among the political entities and to value their policies and moves qualitatively.

"When making decisions, VMRO-DPMNE is guided by the principles contained in the Constitution, the laws and the will of the citizens, at the same time protecting the country's interests, and that is why solutions that would quickly overcome the crisis are necessary, in order to return the country back on the road to progress and economic development," Gruevski scored.

Zaev, on the other hand, underlined that Macedonia has to have regular and fair elections, the justice should be equally applied for everyone, and the Przino Agreement has to be implemented.

"SDSM's stance is complete withdrawal of the abolition decision, as it was recommended by the EU, the US and the entire international community, snap and regular elections, but previously all noted key prerequisites need to be met by the Government that will have the legitimacy to organize and implement the elections. These are the solutions to the crisis. Freedom and legal state for SDSM and the Macedonian citizens are values that cannot be ceded," Zaev said.

Johannes Haindl is expected to meet with DUI leader Ali Ahmeti and DPA's Menduh Thaci.
