Over 20 representatives from political parties, ministries and NGOs participated in a training, whose main goal is to enhance the financial work of the political parties in order to prevent possible corruption and abuse of funds both during the regular work of the political parties and during election campaigns.
"The political parties have to be transparent in their financial work to the highest possible extent, so they can disseminate an image throughout the public that they are working according to the laws and don’t support any kind of corruption or abuse of power. “ – said Isabela Tutak, a Short-term Expert within the EU funded project “Support to Efficient Prevention and Fight against Corruption”.
Ms. Tutak added: “I would encourage the political parties to act for the welfare of the citizens by supporting the national efforts in fighting corruption and abuse of power and by putting into practice the European standards in the financing of the political parties and election campaigns.”
The training was carried out within the project component 3, in which other similar trainings have been envisaged, with an aim to enhance country’s performance in preventing and fighting corruption.
