
Bulgarian writer and publisher Ivan Granitski is this year's recipient of the 'Macedonian Literary Dedalus' award, bestowed by Skopje-based publishing house "Makavej'.
The award for creative dignity and contribution to the affirmation of Macedonian literature in Bulgaria was presented by Makavej editor Vladimir Cvetkovski on Saturday, within the 9th Macedonian Literary Visit taking place in Sofia on May 14-16.
The event aims at enhancing the ties between the Macedonian and Bulgarian literatures, renewing the fruitful communication among authors and literary scholars from both countries, promoting translations of Macedonian works in Bulgaria and Bulgarian authors in Macedonia, as well as stimulating new followers of Macedonian literature.
The event is realized in cooperation with the Sofia-based Macedonian Culture and Information Center, supported by the Macedonian Ministry of Culture.
Ivan Granitski is a poet, journalist, publisher, public figure, member of the of Bulgarian Writers' Association, author of 30 about books of poetry, critics and political journalism.
Some of them are published in Macedonia, Serbia, Russia, Poland...
He was deputy editor-in-chief of "Literature Front" Magazine and Director General of Bulgarian National Television. In 1997 he founded 'Zahari Stoyanov' Publishing House.
