A teenage girl from Gostivar suffered a fracture on her right leg and other heavy injuries in a traffic accident that occurred early on Saturday morning, around 2:30 am in Gostivar.
According to the spokesman of the Interior Ministry's sector in Tetovo, Marjan Josifovski, the accident involved a motorcycle driven by a 16-year-old minor, who was also carrying the injured girl aged 14, and a Ford Escort, driven by 23-year-old R.S. All three people are residents of Gostivar.
The young girl sustained heavy bodily injuries, and she was taken to the hospital where she was given medical assistance. Due to the seriousness of her fracture, she was transferred to one of the clinics in Skopje.
On the order issued by a public prosecutor, a police team carried out an inquiry on the site and is working on determining the causes of the accident.
"According to initial findings, the cause of the accident was that the bike driver was under the influence of alcohol and he had not adjusted the speed of his vehicle to the road conditions," Josifovski said.
