Kyrgyzstan Arrests and Charges Politicians for Preparing Coup

Three Kyrgyz politicians including a former minister were arrested and accused of preparing a coup in the former Soviet republic. In Bishkek last night was arrested the former minister of agriculture Bekbolot Talgarbekov, a judge and former presidential candidate. Members of the opposition People's Parliament are accused of preparing coup with violence and destabilization of the political situation in the country.

The party wants the Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev to resign by the 17th this month and plan demonstrations in Bishkek. Talgarbekov for the local media said the group which was formed in April has the support of senior Russian officials from the army.

In March arrested were two opposition leaders who were also accused of wanting to take power by force. In 2005 and 2010 there were riots in Kyrgyzstan which torn down the government.
