
Starting Friday, new 165 medicines will be sold at discounted prices. This is the 9th discount on medicines in accordance with the methodology of the Health Ministry and the Agency for medicines and medical devices. The total saving from the discount amounts to over EUR 653,000.
The Health Ministry informs that since 2012, over 4,800 medicines have been discounted, and their prices have been discounted 2-3 times. The total savings in the health department amount to over EUR 33 million.
With the new prices, the medicine 'Pancef' is discounted by 38.10 percent, i.e. from MKD 1,229 to MKD 761, which will allow for a yearly saving of EUR 480,000.
In the ninth discount, the prices for 'Ramipril' and 'Valsartan, which are high blood pressure medicines, are also encompassed. The price of 'Ramipril' is discounted by 50 persent, while the price of 'Valsartan' is discounted by 40 percent.
'Hikocinil' is also dicounted by 15 percent. Prices of 'Mirzaten' and 'Velafaks', which are anti-depressants, are greatly discounted also. In terms of hospital medicines, the prices of 'Ffludarabin', used for treatment of chronic leukemia, 'Topotekan', used for ovary cancer, and 'Liksumia', a solution for Diabetes mellitus type 2, have also been discounted.
This systematic measure which was introduced by the Government will continue to be implemented in the upcoming period, which means that in October a new revision will follow along with a 10th discount.
