Turkish police have arrested the total of 15 individuals in Izmir and Istanbul on Friday, under the suspicion they are members of the Islamic State terrorist group, Turkish NTV media outlet reports.
During a large-scale police operation, 15 homes in total were searched, whereas 13 people were detain in Izmir and two in Istanbul.
Weapons and documents linked to ISIL have been seized.
The apprehended persons are suspected of taking part in terrorist activities, of participating in the ISIL-led battles in Syria, and for recruiting fighters.
Among those detains there are people suspected of carrying out bomb attacks over offices held by pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party in Adana and Mersin in 2015.
