A solution to the political crisis in Macedonia should be found as soon as possible, the EU and UK Ambassadors, Aivo Orav and Charles Edmund Garrett respectively, said Thursday during their visit to Gevgelija.
"We have notified that many political parties will not participate in the elections. The voters list has not been cleared yet, media reform is stumbling and President Gjorge Ivanov's pardoning decision still presents a serious problem," Orav said.
Credible elections should have been organized under the Prizino Agreement, but unfortunately we can see no indications at the moment how it could be done, Orav said.
"I however believe that the goal of every political leader is for a way out of the crisis to be found and hence I hope Macedonian political leaders will soon do that," Orav added.
Urgent agreement for breaking the current deadlock and revoking of the President's pardoning decision is necessary, as the rule of law is vital for every country, Garrett said.
