Italian theater companies featuring plays, dances and film screenings will be presented from May 12 to 15 within third edition of the International Theater Festival MNT Fest, director of the Macedonian National Theater (MNT) Dejan Projkovski said at Wednesday’s news conference presenting the program. He said that next four days will be celebration of Italian theater and culture in Skopje and Macedonia.
William Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' comedy play, directed by Antonino Di Nito will be performed at Thursday’s opening.
According to critics, it is a performance that radiates freshness and serenity at every pore. The play is joyous and very amusing including actors from Italy, Serbia, Montenegro, Projkovski said, adding the play will also be performed on Friday.
National Opera of Comrades will perform on Saturday with “The Mountain Giants” written by Valentina Diana and directed by Giuseppe Semeraro, while dance performance by Aldes theater from Lucca will be presented on Sunday.The projection of film ‘The Country where Trees Fly, Eugenio Barba and the Days of Odin’ directed by Davide Barletti and Jacopo Quadri is scheduled also for Sunday.
Franco Ungaro, director of the Mediterranean Academy of Actors and artistic director of the theater "San Domenico" said that the program represents the result of long-standing cooperation with Projkovski, adding that they realized many joint projects and activities in the last 10 years.
