The French Ambassador to Macedonia said Sunday the political crisis in the country was a reason for concern and urged a solution to be found ‘immediately’.
“The political crisis in Macedonia concerns us all, especially me, because I come from France, one of the founding countries of the European Union. It’s a pity that we have to celebrate Europe on May 9 when all of us are concerned about Macedonia asking ourselves how the crisis is going to be settled. We are asking ourselves how it would be possible to hold elections on June 5 when conditions haven’t been approximated yet amongst the political parties. A way out of the crisis has to be found,” Laurence Auer told reporters.
On Sunday, Ambassador Auer was in Bitola to attend a ceremony at the local cemeteries of French soldiers to mark Victory Day.
