Water Guns and Balloons: Colorful Demonstrators Painted "Freedom" Bridge

Supporters of the “Colorful Revolution” gathered in front of the Special Public Prosecutor’s Office (SPO), from where they made their way toward the Macedonian Radio Television (MRTV), the focus of Saturday’s rally. However, on their way to MRTV, they crossed the bridge “Freedom” which has not been a target for painting go far.

While they were walking along the bridge, a large number of the demonstrators with balloons filled with paint, as well as plastic water-guns, also filled with paint, spayed the copper fence. The fence, as well as the sidewalk of the bridge are painted. Part of the demonstrators who were painting the fence, were wearing hoods to cover their faces from the cameras.

Then the crowd made their way to the building of MRTV. Still, the police did not allow them to access the public media service, and put a fence near the boulevard and the television. There were no clashes nor riots, and citizens gathered at the protest gave out roses to the police officers, to congratulate them National Police Day.

In front of the crowd, there was a vehicle driving all along, which played music, and near MRTV there was a stage put up, where music was performed and demonstrators were holding speeches against President Gjorge Ivanov, as well as the current Government.

They were also shouting the already known phrases, such as “Resignation!” and “No justice, no peace!”.
