Snap election on June 5 will definitely be held, confirmed OSCE/ODIHR mission Thursday. They said that the preparation for the monitoring have already started and that the entire process of the elections will be monitored, before the start, on the election day, as well as the situation after the elections.
For the elections, 24 long-term observers will come to Macedonia, as well as 300 short-term observers who will come a few days before the elections.
The mission will evaluate if the elections match OSCE's efforts and standards for democratic election.
The observers will follow the candidate registration carefully, as well as the activities in the campaign and the media reporting in the campaign.
"Our role is to observe the elections, not to interfere and affect their outcome. We will give a technical evaluation for the process, as we do in every country," said Jan Petersen, OSCE Ambassador.
The Ambassador said there will not be any special reports published about the process of revision of the electoral roll in the media, but he announced possible retrospection of the situation with the electoral roll in the first preliminary report for the upcoming snap parliamentary elections.
