A strong 5.6-magnitude earthquake according to Richter was registered in Papua New Guinea (PNG), the US Geological Survey said.
The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 129 kilometers.
It was 70km from Arawa in Bougainville, PNG, or 934km northeast from Port Moresby in PNG.
For now, there is no information about casualties or material damages.
