General Milan Maxim, Slovakian Army Chief of Staff, arrives in Macedonia for an official visit on Tuesday.
General Maxim and his delegation will be welcomed by Macedonian Army Chief of Staff General Metodija Velickovski.
The Slovakian delegation will also meet with President Gjorge Ivanov and Defense Minister Zoran Jolevski.
The two sides will discuss the security situation in the region, and in particular the migrant crisis, during which Macedonia has seen over 10,000 people put pressure on its southern border, trying to enter from Greece.
Slovakia is one of the European countries that provides assistance for Macedonia to maintain the border closed.
The Slovak Chief of Staff will visit Gevgelija, the border town which bears the brunt of the migrant pressure, and also the army pilot training center near Skopje.
