Opposition parties in Serbia have expressed strong doubts regarding the legitimacy of the Republican Electoral Commission's work and have called for a meeting at the Democratic Party's headquarters on Monday.

All events related to the early parliamentary elections are planned to be reviewed at the meeting, which will be closed for the public.

Early on Monday morning, the opposition leaders said there were a number of irregularities during the election day.

Opposition leaders Bojan Pajtic, Boris Tadic, Cedomir Jovanovic and Bosko Obradovic have raised the issue on why the REC needed so much time to announce the initial results.

According to the head of the 'It's Enough' movement, Sasa Radulovic, the Serbian Progressive Party of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has won 40 instead of the announced 49 percent of the vote.

The president of the Serbian Democratic Party, Sanda Paskovic-Ivic, said the elections were marked by numerous irregularities, adding it was crystal clear that 'there is no freedom or democracy in Serbia'.
