France's Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said the police and the anti-terrorist security forces will respond within 20 minutes the latest in the case of a future terrorist attack.

He stressed that the security forces are to abide to new principles of taking action, based on their experience with the Islamist assaults in Paris, in November last year.

The number of the security forces members has been increased, while special unites are allowed not to follow traditional divisions of authorities between the army and the police, which could slow them down or could pose an obstacle in terms of armed actions against terrorists, provided an attack is carried out again.

"In a crisis our citizens expect faultless collaboration at all times," Cazeneuve told a news conference. "It's no time for competition between forces, but rather for unity, pooling resources and cooperating in our common interest."

Following the bloody terror attack on November 13 in the Bataclan concert hall in Paris, in which 90 people were killed, the question why the order for police intervention was issued two hours and 40 minutes later after the terrorist had opened fire was raised.
